Secondary Tuition
Secondary English - KS3

We offer support with secondary school English from Year 7 through to Year 9 and can adapt our tuition to meet the specific needs of each student.

At Key Stage 3 level, most of our students work to strengthen a range of their core skills including vocabulary; writing skills; spelling and grammar; planning and organisation; reading and speaking skills; with the aim of raising their confidence and achievement levels at school. This is designed to support their progress in class and can be adapted as required according to the coursework or exams a student may have coming up. We can provide support for homework and can also help with revision and the techniques which help to organise and maximise study time.

We utilise a range of teaching techniques when providing English tuition, including the use of traditional classroom methods, ICT, mock exams, interactive displays and personalised learning methods. We will provide homework where appropriate but do understand that the student's school homework and coursework comes first.

Secondary Maths - KS3

Secondary Maths tuition is also available from Year 7 through to Year 9.
Skills School can provide tuition for Mathematics as your child starts and progresses through key stage 3. We are happy to plan sessions specifically related to ongoing schoolwork and can help prepare students for tests. An initial assessment helps us to identify specific areas for support, including number and algebra; shape, space and measure; data handling and the application of maths in solving problems. The tuition is completely flexible and can adapt as your child is introduced to new topics in school that they may feel under-confident in.
